Can anyone know how to apply for work from Canada? I have tried so many times and have not yet gotten it. I’m from Ghana, Africa.

I understand your frustration and sympathize but what you are trying to do is very difficult. Canada at best has a challenging job market. I have seen many similar posts from people in developing countries who desperately want a job in Canada but who cannot obtain one. Some report that they have applied and applied and applied and usually receive no response.

This is why…

As a foreign national, you are not legally able to work in Canada. No one can hire you. They likely do not even see your application because the post is usually coded to screen out invalid applicants.

If you can’t work in Canada, your application is invalid. Sorry.

In order to hire a foreign national, a company must complete a very time-consuming and expensive process called a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to prove that there is not someone already in Canada able to fill the job. Canada’s immigration/employment system is designed to discourage hiring foreign nationals. A foreign worker can only be hired by a Canadian employer if that employer can PROVE there is no one already in Canada able to fill the job.

Canada has the best educated workforce in the world. Chances that you offer a skill not already available in Canada are low. So… what do you offer an employer in Canada? I’m guessing you do not have Canadian work experience and are not familiar with the requirements to do your job in Canada. You do not have local references or training that a Canadian employer will recognize. For example, a Canadian employer will not know the names of training institutes or criteria for each in Ghana.

For a Canadian employer, you would be a very high risk hire, especially since Canadian workplaces are very collaborative, it is challenging to lay off employees in Canada, and the Canadian employer has no idea if you will fit into a Canadian business. You offer no local experience. No local references. No familiarity with standard Canadian job/employment practices.

Hiring a stranger from half-way around the world who has no local experience and no local references is extremely high risk. Why should an employer risk hiring you?

The one place you could display your attributes would be in your Quora profile – and that is blank.
